Never a dull moment

Well lets start off with i lost my little toe nail today. i knew i bent it the other day because i kicked something but this morning it was actually hanging off! so thats gone..

I done an hours worth of running on the running machine friday! So i'm well happy with that, as last monday i couldn't even do 20 minutes. Bought Call of Duty 4 friday too! Well, it turn't up friday so i've been playing that loads over the weekend.

Saw Alien vs Preditor Saturday which was a bit mediocore but worth a watch... once.

But onto the main topic, I have just put this order in for a brand new laptop!!

Virtual Enviroments

The drawing is rough and so is the concept, but i've dived into 3D studio max regardless. The brief is to create a virtual interactive enviroment that will be presentied in 3 weeks. Taking into concideration we're not being taught the programming langauge till late next week, i doubt anyone will be able to fully realise there ideas. But putting that to the side i've modelled my concept so i can get a good idea on how it will actually work and look.

Essecially you will start off with 3 cells and a black ball rolling around them. With this you can pull the cell to create bumps and when the ball hits the bump, it creates a beep or a certain pitch of a selected instrument. You can also make them bigger which increases the volume so if your really talented you can make a full fleged song with many cells. It is still in early development and will undoubtably change but heres a render anyway.

A good or bad day?

Today has had its ups and downs. Rude women and a poor grade for group work hasn't helped but on the other side, nandos and good results from 3d stuido max tutorials the day has evened itself out. The green thing you see is the result of what i learn't today. I think its pretty cool but random and i'm sure i'll congure up something better tomorrow but here it is anyway. And the same rendering method but on a car model i didn't finish a year ago.

Freelance Progress

So to give you an idea on what i've been up to. I have been working on a clients (yes, client!) portfolio website and to say i'm pretty happy with the outcome because the amount of ideas i threw at it. Scrapping this and scrappy that, it has finally come to something realistic and sensible. So here are two screen shots which i sent to the client today.

Got a reply saying he really likes it and apart from changing minor things. It is good to go so within the following week i'll be busy with actionscript :/
